About us at Fruzio

In 2007 Fruit Solutions developed the fruzio (pronounced fru-zee-o) brand for the range of frozen fruits, purees and sauces. We supply to food service and retail customers.

Fruit Solutions www.fruitsolutions.co.nz is a family owned business based in the picturesque and sunny province of Nelson, New Zealand.

Our fruzio frozen fruit range is targeted specifically at food service and retail customers. When we chose the fruzio name and the packaging format we wanted to reinforce some of the things that we think are really important to our food service and retail customers.

We chose the name fruzio because it had a sense of the international nature of our business. We used to grow berryfruit ourselves and we understand how difficult it is to supply the range of fruits required by our New Zealand customers all year round. While we do source some fruit from growers in New Zealand we no longer rely solely on our domestic supply. Instead we look around the world to source the best quality fruit at the best price.

Real packaging

We pack our fruit in transparent bags with the Country of Origin clearly stated on the outside of the bag and carton. We do not hide behind the expression “packed in New Zealand from local and imported fruit”. When you buy our fruit you know where it comes from and what it looks like at the time of purchase. If we say our A Grade blueberries comes from Canada that’s where they come from and what’s more, we can trace the fruit back to the original grower in British Columbia. The same applies to all of our frozen fruits, whether they come from New Zealand or China.

Our suppliers

We are supplied fruit by a range of growers and suppliers in New Zealand, Chile, China, Europe, the US and Canada. All the suppliers are known to us and we have worked with them for a number of years. We have visited the growing areas, the factories and the packers to satisfy ourselves that our exacting quality standards are consistently met. Our suppliers also supply the major food service and retail users in Europe, the US and Canada. We are very proud of our suppliers and the quality of their fruit.
